This coat belonged to publisher Jack McClelland (1922-2004). It was designed by Maggy Reeves (1924-2008). This "coat of many authors" features covers from books published by McClelland & Stewart. Jack McClelland wore it to publicize Canadian publishing, most notably when handing out free books during the 1970s and 1980s.
The photos were taken in Mills Memorial Library, McMaster University, 23 October 2008 by Ron Scheffler.
