Dear Friend
Just a few lines to let you know that I received your parcel with the socks in it and I thank you very much for the same as they come in good and handy out here in Winter time. I suppose you will wonder who got them. Well I must tell you as we always appreciate everything that is sent to us. Sergt B. Bayliss 53886 D Com[pan]y 18th Canadian France. Well I must close thanking you again for sure.
