reason. But Stella wouldn't put hers down because her family are frightened -- & of course, she couldn't do anything they wouldn't like! I know she is afraid herself really -- not only of danger but of anything unpleasant or uncomfortable. And she is a great healthy girl with a sister & a brother at home, quite a capable nurse & with no special bent in any other direction, is about as obvious a person to go as anyone here -- of course there are risks, great risks -- but if I had refused to put down my name I should despise myself as much as I would a T.F. requirement that wouldn't volunteer for foreign service...
