June 4th – At Mudros. Nothin doing.
June 5th – At Mudros. Towards nightfall we received sailing orders, boats were hoisted and the ship prepared for sea. At 8 o/c pm our Chaplain the Rev Lovett MA was transferred to the HS “Soudan”
June 6th – At Mudros. At 4 o/c am we weighed & proceeded. During the forenoon the Captain read, to the ships company, a memorandum from Rear Admiral Wemyss dealing with the leakage of information concerning the movements of warships and troops. The captain also took the opportunity to compliment the men on the appearance of themselves & the ship since the departure of Commander West. At 2 o/c pm we arrived at Metglene. The cruiser “Euryalus”, TBD “Wear” and submarine B6 were here on our arrival. In the evening the Inner & Outer Guard, consisting of 17 armed seamen with 2-3 pdrs & 1 maxim gun & with a searchlight placed at the entrance to the Inner harbour, were landed to relieve the men from the “Euryalus”.
June 7th – At Metylene. At 6 o/c am the “Euryalus” sailed and at 8 o/c we shifted berths & moored in the position vacated by her. During the forenoon submarine B6 secured alongside.
June 8th – At Metylene. At noon the SS “Melanie” secured alongside and at 4 o/c pm coaling commenced finishing at 6.30. B7 arrived at sunset.
June 6th – Distance from Mudros to Port Eiro. Metylene 103 miles
Distance steamed since leaving Sheerness 18,574 miles
June 8th – Coal received to-day 400 tons
Coal received since mobilizing 20,518 tons
