  • Victory Cavalcade Introduced and Featured by "Ritzin' the Blitz" All Soldier Review
  • Victory Loan 1941 Torch Day Ceremonies, June 5, 1941 1. O Canada (All Sing) O Canada, our father's land of old, They brow is crowned with leaves of red and gold, Beneath the shade of the holy cross Thy children own their birth, No stains they glorious annals gloss Since valour shields they hearth; Almighty God, on Thee we call, Defend our rights, forfend this free nation's thrall, Defend our rights, forfend this nation's thrall. 2. Land of Hope and Glory (Choir) Land of Hope and Glory, Mother of the free, How shall we extol thee Who are born of thee. Wider still and wider Shall thy bounds be set, God Who made thee mighty Make thee mightier yet. God Who made thee mighty Make thee mightier yet. 3. God Save the King (All Sing) God save our gracious King, Long live our noble King, God save the King: Send him victorious, Happy and glorious, Long to reign over us; God save the King. Thy choicest gifts in store On him be pleased to pour; Long may he reign: May he defend our laws, And ever give us cause to sing with heart and voice, God save the King. 4. The Maple Leaf Forever (All Sing) In Days of yore, from Britain's shore, Wolfe, the dauntless hero, came, And planted firm Britannia's flag On Canada's fair domain. Here may it wave, our boast and pride, And join in love together, The Thistle, Shamrock, Rose entwine The Maple Leaf forever. Chorus The Maple Leaf, our emblem dear, The Maple Leaf forever, God save our King and heaven bless The Maple Leaf forever. 5. We'll Never Let The Old Flag Fall (All Sing) We'll never let the old flag fall, For we love it the best of all, We don't want to fight to show our might, But when we start we fight! fight! fight! In peace or war you'll hear us sing "God save the flag, God save the King" At the ends of the world the flag's unfurled, We'll never let the old flag fall. 6. Keep the Home Fires Burning (Choir) (Band plays first 4 lines softly, then Choir and Band repeat in full.) Keep the Home-fires burning, While your hearts are yearning, Though your lads are far away they dream of Home; There's a silver lining Through the dark cloud shining, Turn the dark clouds inside out Till the boys come Home. 7. Jerusalem (Choir unaccompanied. Trumpets will play first three bars.) And did those feet in ancient time Walk upon England's mountains green? And was the Holy Lamb of God On England's pleasant pastures seen? And did the countenance divine Shine forth upon our clouded hills? And was Jerusalem builded here Among these dark satanic mills? Bring me my bow of burning gold! Bring me my arrows of desire! Bring me my spear! O clouds, unfold! Bring me my chariot of fire! I will not cease from mental fight, Nor shall my sword sleep in my hand, Till we have built Jerusalem In England's green and pleasant land. 8. Wings Over the Navy (All Sing) Wings over the navy, Wings over the sea, We're top o' the service, The navy's cavalry. High over the ocean, flying wide and free, The soldiers, sailors and marines Are demons at eating pork and beans Or posing in the magazines; But we're the navy's eyes, the admirals' fireflies We're high sky ridin' aeronautical guys, Wings over the navy, Sailing the seven seas. 9. Soldiers of the King (All Sing) It's the soldiers of the King, my lads Who've been, my lads, Who've seen, my lads In the fight for England's glory, lad, When we have to show them what we mean; And when we say we've always won, And when they ask us how it's done, We'll proudly point to everyone of England's Soldiers of the King. 10. Rule, Britannia (All Sing) Rule, Britannia! Britannia, rule the waves! Britons never will be slaves. (Britons) 11. There'll Always Be An England (All Sing) I give you a toast, ladies and gentlemen, I give you a toast, ladies and gentlemen, May this fair land we love so well, In dignity and freedom dwell; Tho' worlds may change and go awry, While there is still one voice to cry: There'll always be an England While there's a country lane; Wherever there's a cottage small Beside a field of grain. There'll always be an England While there's a busy street, Wherever there's a turning wheel, A million marching feet. Red, white and blue, What does it mean to you? Surely you're proud, shout it aloud, Britons awake. the Empire too, we can depend on you, Freedom remains, these are the chains nothing can break. There'll always be an England, And England shall be free, If England means as much to you, As England means to me. HELP FINISH THE JOB!

  • The Canadian Way (to be sung to tune of Victory Cavalcade) Come buy your War Bonds, don't delay, Now's the hour and to-day's the day, The lads depend On cash we lend IN THAT GOOD CANADIAN WAY. Buy with your nickels, dimes and bills, Give the Hun and the Japs the chills, Come join the ranks, And rush the banks IN THAT GOOD CANADIAN WAY. Show every lad across the sea, He can depend on you and me, Kindling the home fires merrily, The piper must be paid. Hitler is watching, see him flop When the loan goes over the top It's up to you to see it through IN THAT GOOD CANADIAN WAY. Respond - Buy a Bond Come along, You can't go wrong; Buy your War Bonds now you're free. That's the way, The only way, To maintain our liberty. See it through, It's up to you; Now's the time to do or die. So respond, Buy a Bond, And keep the old Flag flying high.
