1 of 16 letters to his wife from the Camp des Garrigues during May 1940 while Lantier was a soldier. He must have been released into civilian life in 1940 after the German invasion of France and was arrested a few years later and put in the camp in Modane. During the Occupation, the camp des Garrigues became an internment camp for refugees.
