Dear Harry,
I am here overnight enroute and felt like writing you as it is nearly a month since I wrote last, but my word, when you travel it's difficult to find appropriate moments and places which inspire letter writing. Now, for instance I have just completed the foregoing when someone comes in and pulls blackout curtains and the charming twilight so conducive to letter writing is separated from me. Are you on advanced daylight or double daylight saving too? We are now two hours ahead of God, but everything seems to go alright. The theatres commence at 6.15 or 6.30 so that we may be out in twilight at 9.00, the better to find our way home.
By the way, the Club which I believe I outlined which I am staying at I learned Malcolm and Godden played in on their last trip. Then it was probably still The American Women's Club or what was left of it. It was their Club for years, but with the advent of war there became a scarcity of American women I presume and so the Club sold out, much to our benefit. I have been enjoying the grand which has been touched by the distinguished fingers of Reg. Godden and surprisingly enough, (for me) I succeeded in busting a string. Just as he did when I last heard him on his own piano. In fact I believe it was the same note D.
I must be improving!
Well after my last letter the four artists were split up into two even groups of two (?)
