inspired by quite a different story which I shall briefly describe separately. The music then inspired the mime and the mime resolved the music into its present form (is my tie straight).
This is like asking about somebody's operation. You really want to know just what caused the trouble, but oh no, you have to listen to all the gory details. But I must.
Well to make a short story long—The first half of the music was actually heard in my studio as a result of a meeting or meetings of a group of a dozen or so young artists whom I was leading into new realms of artistic exploration and adventure, stripped of academic clothes [in margin: "please! A metaphor!'] and manners. The first quarter was moved by the feeling of the first fearful gropings, occasional affirmations and final agreement as a group. The second quarter was prompted by the sound of active and almost childish jubilation over the promised freedom in their excitable minds, and a sense of abandon.
