This probably will be my last note that I will write to you as a single man. Five days from now it will have happened. I am getting a bit excited -- probably because there will be mostly strangers at the wedding. I will manage though and will write next week to tell you all about it. Things are going along very smoothly. We had the good world that we have been granted leave -- nine days -- not bad eh --
The opening [of the] second front threw a scare into us -- for at that time we were on 24 hour call -- were confused ... now the initial pressure has lessened things are back to normal but it was hard to tell at the time how long those restrictions were going to last.
We are doing well in France -- the Canadians especially can be proud for our Canadian soldiers carried by the Canadian Navy and
