This prisoner arrived in camp on 15 August 1940. "August 15, 1940 – The first transport of prisoners from Warsaw, sent by the Warsaw Sipo and SD commander enteres Auschwitz C.C. In the transport are 513 prisoners from the Gestapo prison in Pawiak and 1153 inmates arrested in street raids. They are given Nos. 1513-1899 and 1901-3179. The Pawiak detainees [this one] include lawyers, doctors, officers of the Polish army, leaders of social and community life, politicians and priests. They are lodged in Blocks 12, 13, 14, 22 and 23 (then numbered 4,5,6,7, and 8). “(Auschwitz Chronicle p. 26).
