Notes
This prisoner was not yet 18 years old ! Le Chêne writes about the Tent Camp . « 60 tentes dressées en hâte à l’automne 1944 pour abrîter les juifs hongrois qui arrivèrent à ce moment-là » (p.26) [60 tents put up in haste in the Fall of 1944 to house Hungarian Jews who arrived at that time ] and « en juin 1944, 16 immenses tentes, chacune pouvant contenir 1200 personnes, dressées au nord-est de Mauthausen… en décembre 1944 elles se mirent à se remplir de juifs hongrois. » [in June 1944, 16 immense tents, each able to contain 1200 persons, were put up in the north-east corner of Mauthause…in December 1944, they began to fill up with Hungarian Jews ] (p.133). Since the prisoner was not Hugarian, he may not have been in the Tent Camp and Lordahl may be mistaking.
