letter, From: Sliwanski, Joseph To: Sliwanski, Martha in Liebertwolkwitz (?) near Leipzig - Aschendorfermoor 20 February 1938

This is a letter from “marsh camp” (lagermoor) Aschendorfermoor dated February 1938. He was probably transferred from this marsh camp to Buchenwald. There were 15 marsh camps established between 1933 and 1938 and Aschendorfermoor was camp II. Mail from these marsh camps is extremely rare and this item is particularly interesting because the prisoner wove a small wicker-basket into the top of the letter in which he put dried flowers.
