Chant s'envole et montre et remplit le faubourg
About
Autograph poem signed with initials and attributed to Jacqueline Farge (Jacqueline Grou-Radenez)--the original manuscript of that famous poem. 1 1/3 pp. 8vo. One manuscript correction. This poem was published by Paul Éluard in Europe (Éditions de Minuit) and quoted by Seghers in La Résistance et ses poètes (p. 492-493) who asks if it’s a real name or a pseudony. But in the same work (p.254), Seghers reminds us that the book by Desnos État de Veille was printed by Jean Grou-Radenez: Ce dernier sera bientôt arrêté, avec sa femme Madeleine Legrand, mère de cinq enfants. Jean, son mari, ne reviendra pas de déportation [He was arrested shortly after, with his wife Madeleine Legrand, mother of five children. Jean, her husband, did not come back from deportation]. Could the initials "J.G." be those of of Jean Grou ? See of the Inscribed books section for a copy of that edition of État de Veille inscribed by Desnos to Marguerite Duras.
