summary
Johann tells "Nelu", his wife, that he received her letter of April 12th 1942 and that it was a surprise because he is so used to waiting for a reply. He tells her he writes often without waiting for replies because he feels as he imagines she does, the agony of waiting for letters. He seems agitated about his children not helping his wife enough. He asks "Nelu" to her thank his sister for helping her out. He asks his wife to write him about her life and that of their friends and relatives.
He ends with his customery kisses to her, and the children.
