cooperation extended by the commanding officers in station are enabling me to do as good a job as I can unhandicapped, except by weather and perhaps the unceasing restlessness of the human being. I was working on ground crew repairing engines for a few days and it is interesting how many poses man gets into in the course of a day and even when he stops and rest he doesn't stay still.
I hear them calling one of their associates "Stardust" when they want his advice or a spanner passed. Of course working day after day as I have been cannot produce hundred percent good work but I consider it more of a study intake observation period and will produce select compositions later on. However I have one or two worthy pieces even in the small or rough scale and am encouraged. There is so much material one hardly knows where to turn and although I am only on station for about a month or 6 weeks I could really be here 6 months and not exhaust the material.
Scotland where I was had the most grand scenery -- a truly beautiful place and I would like to have spent more time there. Ireland, I am not as impressed with (of course relative entirely to where I am) it is smaller and nigglier, but the qualities
