June 27th
Dear All Glad to say Flour Milling going strong—studying 2 to 4 hours per day and am getting to know quite a lot about the job—hope it will help me get a good job when I get home, in any case it will always be a useful standby. Has Doreen got married yet let me have all the gen. Have you met Rege [Methven?] yet? He is a jolly good chap he left here on the last repats about 2 months ago. I expect he has almost forgotten what Kriegie life is like. We are expecting a letter from him shortly. Our garden is doing quite well this year and we have already had some radishes. The onions are doing well and the tomatoes are coming on so we should have a good lot of eats by August or September. Well Cherubs keep the old pecker up. I am hale & hearty should get the April parcel soon—received some Penguin Books last week. “December Selection”. Thanks a lot—Cheerio & God Bless
Love John
