Dear All Happy New Year folks—had a nice New Year Present last week. My August Parcel very acceptable. I have written Grandma thanking her for the wizard pullover but as I have said before, as my mail is limited, please pass my letters round as I can't write to everyone so thank Grandma again So very very much also her pal who knitted the blanket colours do help to brighten the place up. Have done some skating on our rink quite good but rather stiff next day. The Red Cross Christmas parcels were very good and much appreciated. We had a good “bash” (feed) when we got in the “trough” (sat down to table). I'm cook this month in our room and cook for eight quite a job and I daren't make any mistakes else there be Hell to pay. The fellows in my Room are first rate and at least in this I am very lucky and happy to get in with such a good crowd. Have received a photo from Joan waiting for you now and MORE LETTERS please.
Love
John
