Working as I have never worked before. Also cramming up for the Oxford examination in October 1916. Have learnt such a little Latin and Greek. Started my Spanish lessons with Frau Graepel a Castillanerin [?]. She does not know how to teach but she has a great deal to talk about and her accent is splendid. She is quite pleased with the amount I know.
“Puff” has left. Dear Puff—how we shall miss you—you are always so sympathetic!
I bought a terrier through an advertisement in the newspapers. I fetched it from the Pferdestrasse 18, an old 15th century building in the old town. The rooms were so small and quaint. I called him “Puff” after our friend “Puff”. It is 9 weeks old—has a good pedigree and I gave 15/- for it.
