be, but she doesn’t show it. She is such a dear and so sensible, nothing stupid about her.
Was very tired and went to bed early—thinking of dear little C. and kissing the dear little stolen locket. She has a photograph of Jack in uniform, which makes me feel rather jealous. He is an American Army officer.
It was nice to be with mother again but I must say that I rather miss my friends at Hannover and dear Lillie and Hermina.
